Today was a day I'd been looking forward to for a while. I finally got to meet Jennifer of Green Circle Salons and was the first salon in Parksville to get my salon set up to do even MORE good for our environment and divert a whole lot more waste (sure, I was recycling what I could, but local companies won't take our foils and colour tubes and so much more that can ACTUALLY be recycled!!)
Now, all the hair I sweep up from your visit will be collected and used to help with oil spills (won't it be nice when those just STOP happening!? but until then...) as well as some of it being used in the medical field for experiments on possible future uses of the stuff! As I mentioned above, they'll be taking my dirty foils and empty tubes of colour but also plastics the local recycling won't take and any/all leftover chemicals and basically EVERYTHING I use in my industry. I chose this career to help you, my client, feel and look your best; figure I should try and do the same for our planet. Afterall, we only have one.
